About the High School

The Application Process:

Request an Information Packet online.

Please help our office become more efficient and submit an online information packet request. PLEASE NOTE: This packet contains information about the school's philosophy and program; it does not contain an application. If you have any questions, or are unable to download the packet, please call our office at 718-522-1660 ext.313.

Schedule a Tour

  • It is not necessary for a student to apply to attend a tour.
  • All ninth grade applicants are required to attend a scheduled tour. This is a way for applicants to learn about the school, ask questions and see humanities classes in action.
  • Tours, which last about two hours, will begin in late September and continue through January.
  • We will begin scheduling tours on September 16th. If you are interested in signing up, please give us a call starting then.
  • See directions and a map.

Submit an Application online.

Please help our office become more efficient and submit an application online. If you are unable to do so, please call us at 718-522-1660 ext. 313.
Our application deadline is December 1, 2009.
PLEASE NOTE: If, at any point prior to December 1, the number of applicants for kindergarten, first and ninth grades exceeds the number of interview hours that we have available, we will have to stop accepting applications. We have never had to close applications early before and we hope that we won't have to do so this year, but please bear the possibility in mind.

More on the application requirements

  • We require all high school applicants to take the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam), which is administered through the Educational Records Bureau (ERB).
  • We do not require recommendations. If there is someone who has worked with the applicant who would like to write a letter on his or her behalf, they may do so. It should be mailed or emailed to us before the end of January.

Interview

  • Once we have received an application, we will contact you to set up the interview.
  • Interviews are conducted daily. The applicant will meet one-on-one with an interviewer in the Office of Admission. The interview will last about 45 minutes to an hour. If an applicant has an art portfolio, this is the time to share it.

Notification Dates

  • Notification letters will be mailed Wednesday, February 17th.
