About the High School

The Application Process:
Request an Application Packet
Schedule a Tour
- It is not necessary for a student to apply to attend a tour.
- All ninth grade applicants are required to attend a scheduled tour. This is a way for applicants to learn about the school, ask questions and see humanities classes in action.
- Tours, which last about two hours, will begin in late September and continue through January.
- You may schedule a tour at any point during the process by calling our office at 718-522-1660, extension 313 or contacting us by email.
- See directions and a map.
Submit an Application
- Download the application.
- Download the Records Release Form. This should be sent to your child's current school.
- There is a non-refundable application fee of $150.00.
More on the application requirements
- We require all high school applicants to take the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam), which is administered through the Educational Records Bureau (ERB).
- We do not require recommendations. If there is someone who has worked with the applicant who would like to write a letter on his or her behalf, they may do so. It should be mailed or emailed to us before the end of January.
Interview
- Once we have received an application, we will contact you to set up the interview.
- Interviews are conducted daily. The applicant will meet one-on-one with an interviewer in the Office of Admission. The interview will last about 45 minutes to an hour. If an applicant has an art portfolio, this is the time to share it.
Notification Dates
- Notification letters will be mailed no earlier than Wednesday, February 11th and no later than Wednesday, February 25th.
