Phillip

Phillip
Phillip walked
Phillip walked to
Phillip walked to the
Phillip walked to the store
Phillip walked to the store and
Phillip walked to the store and bought
Phillip walked to the store and bought some
Phillip walked to the store and bought some eggs
Then he walked home.

I try to put the puzzle of life

I try to put the puzzle of life
back together.
One piece just won’t fit.

Eliza S. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#43)

The Skyline at Night

Shapes drop onto the water
Which thwarts their design
And clusters around its base,
(The impediment to color, to light~
A chaperone to hold its hand,
Dipping into that well of blackness,)
And ships steal discreetly through,
Their bodies inserted into that gloss,
That sink of darkness, leaving behind
A train of interruptions, of ripples,
Mixed together in a frenzy, in a cascade
Of motion.

Allison B. (High School, 2004-5) (p#44)
