Poem of the Day: 16 Apr 2005

The wriggly jello shifts

The wriggly jello shifts
          with the wind going
left
                                                 right
                       up
      d
      o
      w
      n
                dancing and waiting
      to be eaten.

Julian S. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#62)

The pair of shoes were always together,

The pair of shoes were always together,
They stuck together like dough,
It didn’t matter whet kind of weather,
Sun, rain, or even snow.

They went into a taxi today,
And one was left in it,
So the boy couldn’t play,
And the other was in a Salvation Army pit.

And since he didn’t have the other show,
He gave it also to the Salvation Army,
And they ended up together, with the other few,

They were again two.

Margaret A. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#63)

Sunshine drifts behind clouds,

Sunshine drifts behind clouds,
Out of clouds comes rain,
And slowly rain turns to snow
Then back to rain and clouds
And finally to sunshine again.
These are the cycles of the weather,
The seasons.

Emma J. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#64)
