Poem of the Day: 1 Jun 2005

Night Time

A scary cold darkness
Fills the trailer with
Fright.
No one can sleep
Because they see
Chucky in the night.

Ella G. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#246)

There was a girl who went to her grandmother’s house.

There was a girl who went to her grandmother’s house.
She saw a wolf.
It ate her grandma.
Now she has a wolf for a grandma.

I was walking to my grandfather’s house
Carrying a basketful of food.
On the way I saw a ferocious wolf.
It beat me to the house and ate my lovely grandmother.
When I got there,
There was a wolf in the place of my grandma.
I have a wolf for a grandma.

Chloe S. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#247)

Things die

Things die
and then live
that’s the way it goes
every second something
dies and then another thing
lives — it is the way of
life — you can’t stop it.

Maile S. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#248)
