Poem of the Day: 23 Jun 2005

My mind is a hurricane,

My mind is a hurricane,
it tears down many
houses of thought.

Now my mind is
an empty world.

Nothing to think about,
nothing to do.

Emma J. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#334)

Start now.

Start now.
Pen to paper
Write the lines that cavemen created
Shift weight
Peer at prey
Blinded by the fluorescent light above
Tick tock, tick tock
Peel off my skin, back and forth, back and forth
Nearing the end
Finished
Walk to the man who taught me it all.

Scout P. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#335)

Autumn

Crunching leaves all over the ground
Step on a few and they make quite a sound
The wind always seems to take over my face,
It tugs on my ears; it’s all over the place.

Jena G. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#336)
