Poem of the Day: 5 May 2005

The night is so heavy

The night is so heavy
it almost
crushes
its occupants

Justin H. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#138)

It feels wild and

It feels wild and
a beautiful time,
wind breathing on your face,
the trees dancing around.
It’s when I’m hyper
Kids playing
Other kids in the house reading.
A wonderful time.

Lila R. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#139)

The seasons are ticking away

The seasons are ticking away
Like the clock on the wall:
Winter three hours
Spring three hours
Summer three hours
Fall three hours
If you compare the seasons to a clock
Twelve numbers on a clock
Twelve months in a year
Make the hours months
And you have about
Three months per season.

Ellie P. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#140)
