William Striver was a happy lad
William Striver was a happy lad Until that day that was very sad. He was walking along the road one night Until he saw a sight that gave him a fright He saw his old poetry teachers in all his might. William turned and ran with speed But alas! For his teacher had a steed And William stumbled in his need... He tripped and fell in the river And that was then end Of William Striver.

a bitter cape a sheet drafts over the room with a brush of cold sorrow the faucet drips in the background the door creaks shut the little boy sits at the table alone staring blankly at the table with silent regret
