Poem of the Day: 9 May 2005

The sound of sadness in the air

The sound of sadness in the air
Wind whistling in your ear
Your eyes flashing around
Your legs shaking
Your back bent
And you’re standing in that dark place.

Lila R. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#154)

The person

The person I looked at
Was a black tall
Shapechanger.
Sometimes it got taller
Sometimes shorter
It was following me in day
Vanished at night
It was my shadow.

Forbes W. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#155)

Baby

Gentle, warm to the touch
Softest skin ever felt
Pain when they cry
Cutest thing you will ever see
Treated like a monarch

Charlotte C. (Middle School, 2004-5) (p#156)
