Poem of the Day: 13 May 2005

I’d always wanted to hold the moon;

I’d always wanted to hold the moon;
to climb up the ladder and touch it.
The vastness, emptiness, and the pearly white.
One day, I found the ladder and climbed it.
Up so high I could touch the moon!
I stared at it, long and hard.
The moon’s faces scared me away.
I fell back down to earth.
