Poem of the Day: 15 Nov 2007

I reached out,

I reached out,
Desperately,
Trying to hold it,
Have it,
Nurture it.
I feel it.
As it slipped between my fingers,
Slowing dripping,
Seeping, I tried to prolong the end,
Tried to hold on to the bliss a little longer,
But it had its rise
So it had to have its fall.

Nicholas W. (Middle School, 2007-8) (p#4109)

What we do today

What we do today
Affects things tomorrow
At the end of the day
We return what we borrow

At the start of each dawn
Life starts again
We cannot be picky
We return to where we’ve been

As steady as time
Life pushes on
Make most of each moment
Before it is gone

Life can be full
Of happiness, not sorrow
So extract it all
In the brief time we borrow.

Kimani E. (Middle School, 2007-8) (p#4110)

Finish what you started,

Finish what you started,
Or start something new
Tape it to the paper,
Or affix it with glue.
This is your idea so
Take advantage.
