Poem of the Day: 15 Sep 2008

A regular day,

A regular day,
The bright yellow sun
Settled in the blue cloudless sky
The trees rocking back and forth
The waves crashing against the hard sturdy rocks.
Kids playing cards.
Mothers cooking,
Weaving,
And working.
Fathers, working to keep the family alive,
Soon all that work will go to waste.
The sky goes black.
The sun hides behind the black clouds.
Waves coming closer and
Closer to town.
People running,
Children screaming,
Dogs barking and then
One great wave comes up,
Over the town,
Then….
