Poem of the Day: 26 Jan 2010

XOXO

I’m in a poetry class
So what I’m writing should
Be pretty mysterious, relatable or witty.
But this is not any of those things.
This is the letter I wish I could send,
The goodbye I wish I gave you.
A diary entry that hold the key to my sanity.
I know you will never read this, and I don’t care
As long as someone knows
I love you.

The Boy

The boy stepped in the room,
The light flickered,
A current of warm, fragrant air,
Floated by me.
Heads turned,
Shoes squeaked,
Mothers sighed,
Legs uncrossed,
The World was
Hardly
Changed at all.

A night with company

A night with company
Thirteen faces bashed in
A golden glow.

(haiku)
