The priceless Moroccan "Coco" is a rare coin having a diameter precisely twice that of a US Quarter.
If a quarter is rolled completely around a Coco until it returns to its original position,
how many full turns does George Washington's head make? Please explain.
Brendan's Solution: Three. Because if you roll a quarter along a line that is the same length as the circumference of the Coco coin and if you bend the line into a circle, the head rolls over once more. That makes 3 rotations of the head. |
